Part of learning to be more fluent in English is to surround yourself with native English!  This way, you can avoid making mistakes in English and not only learn the correct vocabulary to use, but also the correct pronunciation.

It is easy to get used to and continue using English in the way that you are familiar with, but is it correct?  The only way to know is to check with a native English speaker.

It is true that English, as well as other languages, evolve and change over time, but still, there are a lot of common mistakes made in English that you would never hear native speakers say or write.

For example, perhaps you are using the right word in a sentence but the wrong collocating word.  Collocations are words that go together.

Have a look at these examples:

(Adjective + preposition) collocation errors:

Are you interested about sports? (This is an incorrect collocation.)
Are you interested in sports? (This is a correct collocation.)

(Verb + noun) collocation errors:

I win a lot of money in this job. (This is an incorrect collocation.)
I make/earn a lot of money in this job. (This is a correct collocation.)

(Adjective + Noun) collocation errors:

She likes to drink powerful coffee. (This is an incorrect collocation.)

She likes to drink strong coffee. (This is a correct collocation.)
